The fa twitter feed has just listed Alli as "dele" on the teamsheet, and no doubt it will be on his shirt.
I know it is commonplace in Spain/Brazil etc for names to be adjusted but imagine if Wayne Rooney just had "wazza" or Wayne on his shirt

I too do a double take when I see Livermore listed in an England XI.
Every team needs a water carrier but surely we've got better than him ?

Like when Hernandez was allowed to have Chicharito on his shirt. Morrison had 'Ravel' as well, and I'm sure Mears had 'Ty'.
PL rules state you have to have your proper surname unless they approve something else. Obviously for Spanish and Portuguese names players 'something else' is usually easier.
I actually think for players with surnames which fit on shirts in straightforward fashion, there should be no exceptions unless a club has something silly like about 8 players called Smith.
Technically Rooney could have 'Wazza' on his shirt of the PL agreed to it.

I won't even bother to switch on the TV for this. I have no interest in supporting Spurs players, whatever the shirt it is they are wearing.
I can never understand the switch of allegiance to national teams. In previous internationals, I've seen West Ham fans go wild when Lampard or Defoe have scored for England. I can't understand that. All I hope for is a broken leg.
